Requiem

Spoiler:
Basically the Hot Fuzz plot line, except trying to take itself seriously.

That wig was a terrible distraction. I couldn't get scared by the spooky music and flashes of disturbing images because I was too busy chuckling over the wig.

She didn't need the wig. Lovely actress without it. Director wanted a suicide blonde with bangs, I guess.

Such potential!

Thirded on Santa Clarita diet. Though I'd probably watch Drew Barrymore reciting shopping lists, this is a very fun show even on top of that.
"If fighting is sure to result in victory, then you must fight! Sun Tzu said that, and I'd say he knows a little bit more about fighting than you do, pal, because he invented it, and then he perfected it so that no living man could best him in the ring of honor. Then, he used his fight money to buy two of every animal on earth, and then he herded them onto a boat, and then he beat the crap out of every single one. And from that day forward any time a bunch of animals are together in one place it's called a zoo! (Beat) Unless it's a farm!"

Having finished Santa Clarita Diet (Season 3 will be very interesting if they pick up all the plot threads they left lying about at the end of season 2), I started the second season of Into the Badlands which juuuuuust came to Netflix.

Good show, post apocalyptic martial arts action. They picked up so directly from the end of season 1 that I had trouble remembering who was who and what was happening because I saw the end of season 1 over a year ago. Got back up to speed pretty quickly though, and am enjoying the show.

Been watching Father Brown. Not bad.

I've been watching Black Lightning, but I don't think I would recommend it.

For a show about a superhero, there's not much action, and the action there is is pretty cheesy. Also too much hand-wringing and family drama. I'm probably going to give up on it.

I have started watching. I know nothing of the original.

But actuallaully I think I do know a little bit about the original original.

When I was a wee, wee lad, my dad read me the Swiss Family Robinson, and clearly this is a derivative from that.

So far I like it.

Peaky Blinders interesting but the sound seems muddled.

Excellent show. That and Breaking Bad.

I'm just now starting to watch Wild Wild Country on Netflix.

So far, it's amazingly good. I wasn't sure I wanted to watch this, but if you have any doubts, give it a try.

I think even Ed would like it.

Does anyone else have a problem understanding the dialog on streamed shows?

Not particularly, unless it is for reasons that would be true whether it was streamed or not. For instance, Doctor Who went through a phase for a couple of seasons where the damned music would drown out what people were saying.

The original was derivative of Swiss Family Robinsonson right down to the family being named Robinson. I think Irwin Allen (the creator of the show in the 60s) made no secret that he was going for Swiss Family Robinson.....In.....Spaaaaaaaaaace.
