Clerked for Kennedy and supposedly has Kennedy's endorsement (showing that like Scalia/Kagan, the judiciary isn't as deranged as the rest of Washington).
NYT op-ed today from a very non-right-wing person pointing out that Kavanaugh is brilliant and has shown that he changes his mind reasonably.
Turn on the TV or Internet though and "OMG, MUH ABORTION!"
So basically Kennedy's hand picked successor and not some old Trump crony.
I called this--don't know if it was here... but I suggested that Kennedy was persuaded to retire at this time with the promise of being able to help pick his successor. I would have asked for that if I were in his shoes. If they didn't want to play ball, he could say, "Fine, see how you do after November."
"If fighting is sure to result in victory, then you must fight! Sun Tzu said that, and I'd say he knows a little bit more about fighting than you do, pal, because he invented it, and then he perfected it so that no living man could best him in the ring of honor. Then, he used his fight money to buy two of every animal on earth, and then he herded them onto a boat, and then he beat the crap out of every single one. And from that day forward any time a bunch of animals are together in one place it's called a zoo! (Beat) Unless it's a farm!"
