Fuck it, legalize it all!

Postby Cloverlief » Sat Mar 31, 2018 11:38 pm

Don't people die of cancer? So why should murder be illegal because people die anyway!! People fall and hurt themselves, even break limbs and are often in severe pain, so why should torture be illegal. People are going to get hurt anyway!! It is PEOPLE not the murder or tortures fault, PEOPLE murder and torture.

Is this an April fools thing? It's already 4/1 over here.

Hi Chani

No, it is pure sarcasm to people who say when gun control is brought up, "Well x kills x number of people too" and "guns don't kill, people kill."

Last year almost 40,000 people were killed with guns. And 1, ONE, of those 40,000 was my beloved child.

By selfish idiots and people who make false comparisons, yes. And being "triggered" is not a bad thing. I am triggered by people who resist sensible gun control legislation and compare it to other things. I am triggered because last year almost 40,000 people in the US alone were killed by guns and ONE of those people was my child, my beautiful, bright, quirky, wonderful child.

I have never been a fan of guns, and now I am even less of one. I have always supported sensible gun control, and I still do, but I would be perfectly okay if all guns were banned as well.

I see. It's a terrible thing. I have no words that could help. There are no words to say except I'm so sorry for your loss. And I'll just leave it at that.

It may be true that people kill people, but guns make it a fuckload easier to kill people. Fewer guns, fewer people kill people, and fewer people get killed.
"It is not I who is mad! It is I who is crazy!" -- Ren Hoek

"[... it seems most strange that... ] the Creator of Heaven and Earth resorted to the womb of a certain Jewish lady, grew there for nine months and was born as an infant, and afterwards grew up and was betrayed into the hands of his enemies who sentenced him to death and executed him, and that afterwards... he came to life and returned to his original place. The mind of a Jew, or any other person, simply cannot tolerate these assertions. If you have listened all your life to the priests who have filled your brain and the marrow of your bones with this doctrine, and it has settled into you because of that accustomed habit. [I would argue that if you were hearing these ideas for the first time, now, as a grown adult], you would never have accepted them." -- Rabbi Moses ben Nahman, defending the Talmud at the Disputation of Barcelona, July 1263.

"God is the supreme excuse for human adults to absolve themselves of any obligation to preserve natural resources for their own children during their lifetime." -- Gene Ray

Simply not true. If it were the USA would have by far the highest murder and suicide rates in the world. And Chicago would have the lowest murder rate in Illinois.

And neither is remotely true.

Chani I'm truly sorry for your loss, but gun bans are not the answer.

I disagree completely. Other countries that have instituted gun bans and strict gun control show that it does work and the gun death decreases dramatically.

In the UK they also have knife control laws after what happened when they banned guns.

In Sweden the big problem is now grenade attacks. Yes, grenades.

Conclusion: Guns are not the underlying problem.

My condolences also...

Yet at least one other country has huge percentage of gun ownership, and low gun violence.
Switzerland has a stunningly high rate of gun ownership — here's why it doesn't have mass shootings

Switzerland hasn't had a mass shooting since 2001, when a man stormed the local parliament in Zug, killing 14 people and then himself.

The country has about 2 million privately owned guns in a nation of 8.3 million people. In 2016, the country had 47 homicides with firearms. The country's overall murder rate is near zero.
...
Switzerland is obsessed with getting shooting right. Every year, it holds a shooting contest for kids aged 13 to 17.
...
Zurich's Knabenschiessen is a traditional annual festival that dates back to the 1600s.
...
Having an armed citizenry helped keep the Swiss neutral for more than 200 years.
...
Many Swiss see gun ownership as part of a patriotic duty to protect their homeland.

Yes, you may consider an easily defended country in mountains to be an anomaly, perhaps it is...

It is an example though.
Then Skank Of America could start in...

Look at you trying to shift the blame. There is no shred of evidence schools are responsible for breeding shooters.
