It isn't "deviant" if it is the norm, but if it is a mindset that motivates harmful behavior, then I would call that evil.

Then, he used his fight money to buy two of every animal on earth, and then he herded them onto a boat, and then he beat the crap out of every single one. And from that day forward any time a bunch of animals are together in one place it's called a zoo! (Beat) Unless it's a farm!"

So yeah, going back to my point about perceived powerlessness, we know that for every micromovement like this there are the true believers and the truly deranged. Then there are people who grow into it or are pushed into it.

Look at Britain First, is there any doubt that mass censorship in England practically pushes people into things like Britain First when their frustration at the Orwellian nature of things reaches critical mass?

As Sargon said of Richard Spencer and the alt-right, beyond the initial racists and nutjobs; the perceived doublethink of the mass media pushes people into right wing fringe groups as they feel like it's an act of rebellion against a corrupt mostly uniform and dishonest influence. If you were aware of the real truth of gamergate and constantly saw it lied about or misportrayed in the media, you would be pushed into fringes because suddenly your comrades against mass dishonesty are the real deplorables.

So macro trends can push people into the fringe just because the bubbles push everyone out who doesn't follow along.

The older I get, the less I attribute to conscious decision making and the more I attribute to reaction.

I see how that happens, but it disappoints me.

I'll bring in an old analogy. If someone started beating up litterers, I would oppose that, but it wouldn't make me decide that littering was good.

Litterers are doing something wrong and harmful.

If you told me it was wrong to even think about littering, I might become resentful that I am told not to think.

If I was told not to litter for reasons that didn't wash, I might even assume that littering was a valid protest against nonsense.

It's an analogy, but not a good one to this I think.

If you were already borderline Islamophobic, Telford pushed you full in. Suddenly the BBC and the powers that be are complicit to you. Incompetence appears malicious. So there is the time+incidents factor as well.

I'm sure there are parallels with the fringe antifa types too who are bred versus making conscious decisions.

If I spent enough time reading rightwingwatch, I would probably assume there was an evil undercurrent inherent in capitalism and that it was just the wrong system. And that anyone who defends it is a fascist.

So in other words, you are saying people don’t join group’s because they care about the cause, they join to make everyone else eat shit. Those gamer gaters never gave a crap about “ethics”, they just want to make gays and women eat shit. Those Antifa never gave a crap about making the world safe from fascism, they just want to make righties eat shit. Etc. It’s 100% about who you can beat with how large a hammer

Same thing I am saying too.

https://www.cnn.com/2018/03/16/politics ... index.html

The Wounded Warrior Project is a legitimate multimillion-dollar nonprofit organization with nationwide recognition that helps wounded, ill and injured veterans.
The Wounded Warrior Fund, on the other hand, was a complete scam, federal prosecutors say. After a three-year investigation by the US Secret Service and Clark County Sheriff's Office, four people were indicted February 28 by a federal grand jury. The case was unsealed Friday.
The man picking up the checks from Cristiani was 44-year-old James Linville of Clark County. He incorporated the Wounded Warrior Fund in 2011 and Wounded Warrior Foundation in 2014, which presented themselves falsely as nonprofit organizations serving veterans in Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio. Linville worked with three associates to defraud more than 1,000 victims and collect more than $150,000 in traceable donations over six years, according to investigators. The indictment alleges they told donors 100% of their contributions would go to veterans and their families. Investigators say no money went toward veterans.

The Justice Department publicly announced the charges Friday morning. "The acts of these fraudsters have eroded the trust and good will of those who want to contribute to legitimate fundraising organizations, including those that support our veterans," US Attorney Josh Minkler said in a statement on Friday. "Our American veterans have dutifully served this country through many wars and deserve better than to be deprived of donations from giving donors,"

At least one of them is a "sovereign citizen".

There is a certain sad hilarity listening to them blather on about "I'm not driving, I'm traveling!"
