Condi as a dem or repub? I don't see the dnc as it is accepting condi.

I was thinking of (R) Condi against (D) Oprah. It would be fun. That's popcorn stocks right there. But either way. I think Condi would make a fine Democrat candidate. In a debate she'd destroy Oprah. Or Clinton (either one), and certainly Trump. I can't think of anyone in the public political arena to whom she would lose.

Problem is, like Oprah, she has no intention of running. In Oprah's case that's a good thing.

I'm not doubting she would be a fine candidate or president. What I question is how she'd fit in. The anti-establishment thing isn't likely going to work out, she has few allies in the DNC, and I don't see them being too warm to another centrist with "baggage" after 2016. Though I would admit that Condi v Oprah would be a fun campaign. At the very least, it would give a lot of the hicks heart attacks.

Are you SERIOUSLY asking this after a year of Trump? I had to stop reading.

That's why I said the next sentence. Trump had a large demographic to run with despite the GOPs concerns of him: the anti-establishment right. I don't see Condi playing that game well, if at all. For either party.

She speaks like Reagan. Her politics are like Kennedy's. I think she'd do fine on either side. Probably better on the Dem side because then the media would be with her. Landslide either way I think. But it is a pipe dream. She's refused every offer, or so I hear.

But the opposition, whichever it may be, has the neolib+neocon Bush card, and that's dangerous branding for the party that accepts the nomination. It's still politics at the end of the day.

For the left, someone who projects significantly more competence than Trump is perceived to have (rightly or wrongly), and who isn't a party-line Republican, has a significant potential base, or even some crossover potential if she ran GOP.

Instead of Oprah, they should run Carl Weathers. He is exactly as qualified, plus he is owed it since he is the only major cast member of Predator to not to become a governor. The Upgrade to president is interest.

Now guess what fresh young Democratic face wants to run?

Spoiler:
Former Secretary of State John Kerry is considering a second run for president in 2020 to take on President Trump, according to comments reported by the Israel newspaper Maariv.

According to the report, Kerry told Palestinian officials that he was strongly considering a run in 2020, and hinted that Trump will likely not be in office much longer in strongly-worded conversation Wednesday.

"Hold on and be strong,” Kerry told the interviewer, a close associate of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, adding that he should tell Abbas "that he should stay strong in his spirit and play for time, that he will not break and will not yield to President [Donald] Trump’s demands.”

And holy fucking shit, telling a fascist totalitarian scumbag to "hold on and be strong". Jesus fucking Christ!

Why Is Amazon Running a Full Page of "Michelle Obama for President" T-Shirts?
https://www.unz.com/mwhitney/why-is-ama ... -t-shirts/

Why is Amazon running a full page of “Michelle Obama for President” T-Shirts? What does Bezos know that we don’t know?

And why did Michelle decide to launch her new book on November 13th, 2018, just a week after the midterm elections? Was that merely a coincidence or was the date chosen by her political advisors for some other reason?

...

After the ballots are counted, Michelle is going launch her 30-city book tour during which time large throngs of frenzied supporters will ‘spontaneously’ pop up everywhere demanding that their favorite liberal icon throw her hat in the ring and join the fight against ‘evil’ Trump. I can almost hear her yielding to their feverish pleas already:

“I don’t want to be president, but I will do it for you, my people.”

...

1) Seems like awfully fanciful speculation to me.

2) Yet more plausible than Trump 2016 would have seemed in 2014, had anyone mentioned it.

I'm not surprised that some people want her to run, but I don't think she'll run. Even if she does, I doubt it would be for president (even Hillary thought she needed to be a senator before she could be president).
