Please! Maybe it's time I quit playing Rogue and took it up.
"If fighting is sure to result in victory, then you must fight! Sun Tzu said that, and I'd say he knows a little bit more about fighting than you do, pal, because he invented it, and then he perfected it so that no living man could best him in the ring of honor. Then, he used his fight money to buy two of every animal on earth, and then he herded them onto a boat, and then he beat the crap out of every single one. And from that day forward any time a bunch of animals are together in one place it's called a zoo! (Beat) Unless it's a farm!"

Just started playing the new version last night.

Definite improvement in the tile based graphics, but haven't got far enough into it to note any substantive differences in the game play.

As with all roguelikes, it is possible to save games for later but not restore them. When you die the file goes way unless you cheated by making copies earlier.

But when you die in NetHack it sometimes creates a bones file, so that a later character can occasionally come across your character's ghost and feral pets (and grab your inventory albeit randomly cursed).

That business gets more interesting in multiplayer environments, although the gameplay itself is always single player versus program.

My usual MO is to have several games going at once for variety.

The old bones files are compatible with the new version, and I have several of them waiting for me.

I see no mention of GTA Online nor Ninja Gaiden. This thread title is flawed.

It seems that our RIVER has run dry.

I'm finding the beginning game a bit tougher, and the geography of Minetown more interesting.

Maybe some screenshots later.
