The flash of light you saw in the sky was not a UFO. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.

It's not a bad idea. As my optom... fuck it... eye doctor explained regular sunglasses like the really sexy Ray-Bans have a flaw, they allow the pupil to expand while not blocking UV from the side. This might not be a problem for most but if you spend a lot of time outdoors looking up it can be.
This is why myself and my husband (kite fliers, long story) had cataract surgery in our mid 50's.
Long story short wear them "old people" sunglasses.
"Try SCE to AUX."
Yeah, me and an electrified atmosphere ain't friends.
