UFO sightings follow the same pattern.

Given that the red areas appear to be 99 percent rural, I would guess the same map could also represent the distance to the nearest McDonalds.

Trying to figure out what the hell we are sending to Switzerland in such great numbers. Gold and silver maybe? Mining and tourism are our biggest industries. But then why Switzerland?

Maps, meh. In one of my old jobs, we'd have a construction trailer in a small town in Ukraine but we'd highlight the whole USSR.
The flash of light you saw in the sky was not a UFO. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.
